The Hunger |
| Stepping
softly into sound For unseen faces in a crowd Watchful eyes she keenly feels Before the muse of dance she kneels Mirror in a stranger's eyes Do you see through this disguise? Beyond the veil of flesh and bone Hides a soul that weeps alone And seeks to fill the empty place With wonder in a stranger's face Not for love or will or lust But while the Hunger says she must. ©Sonja Torres 1998 |
